Councilman Thomas White, an advocate for Baisley Pond Park and a resident of Rochdale Village, will be holding the Banner Day Picnic and Parade this Saturday. He briefly talked about this event during July's Gospelfest event. Their staff are calling this a special community relations day and they will be honoring New York's best businesses, organizations and agencies. They're expecting over 3000 to attend. If you're a business owner, this is the event to really show up and show out with your banners and/or displays. A very special shout-out to David Quintana, a political activist and blogger from "the other southside" of Queens - Ozone Park! A man who is always in touch with local political and environmental affairs. Thanks for the heads up and reminder.
